Winter Tram

Winter Tram in Steveston, British Columbia.

What: Metro Vancouver’s hidden gem heritage attraction transforms into a charming, admission-free holiday hot spot this season––and it’s the perfect choice for families and nostalgia fans. You can climb aboard the festively decorated and beautifully restored century-old tramcar and peruse exhibits that bring to life the region’s extensive yesteryear transit tram system. Kids will love dressing-up as a junior tram conductor and diving into the winter-themed Scavenger Hunt (look out for Hamm the pig!). The Richmond Public Library will also be hosting readings of “The Polar Express” here on December 7 and 15 (2pm, 2:40pm and 3:20pm; seating is first-come, first-served). Kids and adults alike can also marvel at the unique display of local heritage buildings expertly constructed from LEGO. And consider dropping by at 4:45pm on December 1 for an official tree-lighting ceremony––complete with entertainment, light refreshments and the chance to meet Santa himself!
