The Hobbit
What: Head to Vancouver's charming, hidden gem Pacific Theatre for what may be the hit holiday show of the season: a world premiere production of JRR Tolkien's magical masterpiece, The Hobbit, created by playwright Kim Selody. Join unlikely hero Bilbo Baggins as he opens his door to a gruff, axe-wielding Dwarf and, at the invitation of a mysterious wizard, launches headlong into an epic quest––complete with trolls, dragons, elves and, of course, that "precious" ring and its cave-dwelling guardian. Brilliantly brought to life by two energetic performers, this show miraculously balances creative storytelling and a highly imaginative set, while delivering a generous slice of laughs along the way. Be sure to book ahead as early as possible, though, since this is a small studio theatre with only a limited number of seats.
