THEATRE REPLACEMENT'S
East Van Panto: Robin Hood
Presented by the Cultch
What (Information from 2024): The beloved East Van Panto is back on stage at the historic York Theatre for its sparkling 12th year! Jam-packed with music, jokes and great costumes, this brilliant, family-friendly version of Robin Hood fuses high-energy pantomime traditions with lots of local references to create a whip-smart, highly original production. The story? Robin Hood and the Merry-Thems are enjoying the delights of Trout Park when the dastardly Sheriff suddenly announces the privatization of all the city's greenspaces––which means everyone, including wildlife, now has to pay to use them. In response, Robin and his park-loving friends spring into action with a grand plan to win back the neighbourhood from the rich and powerful...but will they succeed? Get ready to laugh, boo and cheer your heart out at this year's spectacular East Van Panto––but be sure to book your tickets as soon as possible; this is a must-see show that's become an annual festive tradition for many Vancouverites.
